The Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani inaugurated the women labourers convention organised by the Kerala unit of BMS in Thiruvananthapuram. Smriti Irani visited the house of Dr. Vandana,had been stabbed to death on duty, by the assailant who was taken to the hospital for medical examination by police. Dr. Vandana's death sparked massive protest across the State by medical professionals, leading to the State Govt bringing new ordinance ensuring safety of health workers.
