Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will kickstart the distribution of PMJAY-MA Yojana Ayushman cards in Gujarat on 17th October via video conferencing. The Prime Minister will officially launch the distribution during the programme, and thereafter 50 lakh printed, colourful Ayushman cards would be sent to every beneficiary in Gujarat at their doorstep by National Health Authority-empanelled organisations following e-KYC of beneficiaries. In order to shield impoverished individuals from the exorbitant costs of medical care and illness, PM Modi, who was serving as the chief minister of Gujarat at the time, launched the “Mukhyamantri Amrutam (MA)” programme in 2012.
