●India will provide an additional $500 million financial aid to help the Sri Lanka to buy fuel. ●This is the second $500 million in gasoline credit that India has given to a Sri Lankan government. ●India has supplied approximately 400,000 tonnes of petroleum so far to Sri Lanka. ●India has also extended two credit lines worth over $2 billion to help buy food - rice has already been sent - medicines and other essentials. ●  Bangladesh was also willing to postpone $450 million in swap repayments to ease Sri Lanka burden. ●Sri Lankan Foreign Minister GL Peiris said, "Assistance by the IMF will take about six months to come to us and it will come in tranches,".
