Directions : In each of the questions, a sentence is divided into five parts namely A, B, C, D and E in which one of the parts is given in bold and is grammatically and contextually correct. You have to identify which fragment, apart from the bold one, is correct in terms of grammar and usage.

Citizenship is the relationship between an individual and a state in which the individual belongs , and owes allegiance to the state and in turn is entitled to its protection. B - ‘State’ is a collective noun and thus will be treated as singular and thus ‘between’ will be the correct preposition. D - ‘Allowance’ is contextually incorrect here and will be replaced with ‘allegiance’ meaning obedience. E - ‘In turn’ is the correct phrase meaning ‘in succession’.
