NWDA Exam Pattern

The National Water Development Agency announced its vacancies for the posts of Junior Engineer, Hindi Translator, Jr. Accounts Officer, Upper Division Clerk (UDC), Upper Division Clerk- Stenographer Grade-II and Lower Division Clerk (LDC). The exam dates will be notified later but the exam preparation should not be delayed at any cost. To help you with the preparation, we are sharing the NWDA exam pattern so that you may start your preparation well in time.  

  • There will be a computer based online test for the posts of Junior Engineer, Hindi Translator, Jr. Accounts Officer, Upper Division Clerk (UDC).
  • There will also be a skill test (shorthand/typing) for the posts of Upper Division Clerk- Stenographer Grade-II and Lower Division Clerk (LDC) along with the computer based test.
  • There will be separate tests for all the posts. All the tests will contain objective type questions with 100 questions.
  • All the tests will be of 100 marks.
  • The test duration will be 2 hours.

Upper Division Clerk (UDC) Exam Pattern

The NWDA Upper Division Clerk exam pattern consists of various sections that make for a total of 100 questions carrying 100 marks. The subjects that will be assessed in it are: General English, General Hindi, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and Computer Literacy. The remaining details are given in the table below:

Lower Division Clerk (LDC) Exam Pattern

Knowing the NWDA LDC exam pattern will give you an exact idea of what to prepare for the exam. It will consist of questions from the following subjects: General English or General Hindi, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and Computer Literacy.

  • There will also be a Typing Test.
  • The Typing test will be on Computer Net typing speed.
  • The candidates will be required to type in English or Hindi.
  • English - 35 w.p.m
  • Hindi - 30 w.p.m

Stenographer Grade-II Exam Pattern

The exam for Stenographer Grade-II post will also be conducted online and will consist of objective type questions from the subjects of: General English or General Hindi, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and Computer Literacy.

  • There will be a skill test for the post of Stenographer Grade-II.
  • The skill test will be qualifying in nature.
  • It will consist of Dictation of 10mts. @ 80 w.p.m.

Junior Engineer Exam Pattern

The computer based test for the post of Junior Engineer will consist of various subjects like General English, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Computer LIteracy, Estimating,Costing and Valuation, Surveying, Geotechnical Engineering, Foundation Engineering, Hydraulics, Irrigation Engineering, Concrete Technology and Hydrology, out of which a certain number of questions will be asked. The number of questions will vary for each subject/section. All questions will carry 1 mark each. Check the complete details from the table provided below:

Hindi Translator Exam Pattern

The online test for the post of NWDA Hindi Translator will consist of various sections as follows: General English, General Hindi, General Knowledge, Computer Literacy, Logical Reasoning, and Computer Literacy.

  • Apart from this, there will be a Descriptive Test which will require the candidates to translate 2 passages each from English to Hindi & Hindi to English. 4 choices will be provided for the same.
  • The Descriptive Test will be of 40 marks.

Junior Accounts Officer

The NWDA exam for the post of Junior Accounts Officer will focus on the following subjects: General English, Arithmetic, Advance Accounting, Auditing & Income Tax, General Studies & Computer Literacy. A total of 100 questions will be asked in the exam. The complete details are as follows:

Marking scheme

In all the computer based tests of the NWDA exam, there will be objective type questions. It is expected that the tests for all the posts will have 100 questions.

  • All the questions will carry one mark.
  • There will be no negative marking.

Exam language

There will be a computer based online test for all the posts in the NWDA recruitment process where the exam language can be chosen by the candidates as either English or Hindi. 

For the posts of Stenographer Gr-II and LDC, there will also be a Skill Test (Shorthand/Typing) along with the computer based test. The Typing test will be conducted in English or Hindi which will also be done on Computer.
