Kendriya Vidyalaya Eligibility Criteria 2024

Before applying for different posts in Kendriya Vidyalaya you must go through the official notification details carefully so that you do not miss out on any details and your candidature gets cancelled at the later stage of the recruitment process. Kendriya Vidyalaya Educational Criteria

KVS PGT Teacher Educational Criteria

  • Two Year Integrated Post Graduate M.Sc./MA Course from Regional College of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate. OR
    • Master’s Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate in concerned subjects.
  • B.Ed. or equivalent qualification from a recognized University for all the above PGT posts except Information & Technology.
  • Proficiency in Teaching in Hindi and English languages.
  • Desirable Qualifications: - Knowledge of Computer application.

PGT (Hindi) Hindi or Sanskrit with Hindi as one of the subjects at Graduate level
PGT (Physics) Physics/Electronics/Applied Physics/Nuclear Physics
PGT (Chemistry) Chemistry/Biochemistry
PGT (Economics) Economics/Applied Economics/ Business Economics
PGT (Commerce) Master’s degree in Commerce. However, the holder of Degree of M.Com in Applied/ Business Economics shall not be eligible.
PGT (Maths) Mathematics/Applied Mathematics
PGT (Biology) Botany/Zoology/Life Sciences/Bio Sciences/Genetics/ Microbiology/Bio-Technology/Molecular Biology/Plant Physiology provided they have studied Botany and Zoology at Graduation level.

PGT (Geography) Geography

KVS PGT Computer Teacher Educational Criteria

PGTs
  • At least 50% marks in aggregate in any of the following: B.E or B.Tech (Computer Science/ IT) from a recognized University or equivalent Degree or Diploma from an institution/ university recognized by the Govt. of India. OR
    • B.E or B.Tech (any stream) and Post Graduate Diploma in Computers from a recognized University. OR
    • M.Sc. (Computer Science)/ MCA or Equivalent from a recognized University. OR
    • B.Sc. (Computer Science) / BCA or Equivalent and Post Graduate degree in the subject from a recognized University. OR
    • Post Graduate Diploma in Computer and Post Graduate degree in any subject from a recognized University. OR
    • ‘B’ Level from DOEACC and Post Graduate degree in any subject. OR
    • ‘C’ Level from ‘DOEACC’ Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and Graduation.
  • Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.
  • Note: For subsequent promotion, the incumbent will have to acquire B.Ed. or equivalent degree.

KVS TGT Teacher Educational Criteria

  • Four years integrated degree course of Regional College of Education of NCERT with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject as well as in the aggregate. OR
    • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized University with 50% marks or above in aggregate as well as in the concerned subject.
  • B.Ed. or equivalent from a recognized University.
  • Should pass the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET Paper-II) conducted by CBSE.
  • Proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English medium.
  • Desirable Qualifications: - Knowledge of Computer application.

KVSKVS TGT Teacher Subjects

TGT (English) English as a subject in all the three years
TGT (Hindi) Hindi as a subject in all the three years.
TGT(SST) Any two of the following:
History, Geography, Economics and Pol. Science of which
one must be either History or Geography.
TGT (Science) Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry
TGT (Sanskrit) Sanskrit as a subject in all the three years.
TGT (Maths) Bachelor Degree in Maths with any two of the following subjects: -
Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Science, Statistics
TGT (P & HE) Bachelor Degree in Physical Education or equivalent.
TGT (AE)
  • Five Years recognized Diploma in Drawing and Painting/ Sculpture/ Graphic Art OR
    Equivalent recognized Degree
  • Working knowledge of Hindi & English.
    Desirable: Working knowledge of Computer Applications.
TGT (WE)
  • Three years Diploma after Higher Secondary in Electrical. Electronics Engineering from an institution recognized by State Govt./ Govt. of India. (The minimum qualification for admission to the Diploma Course should be at least Higher Secondary). OR
    • Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a recognized University. OR
    • Graduate in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a recognized University.
  • Working knowledge of Hindi and English.
    Desirable:
    • One year of practical experience in a recognized workshop institution/factory.
    • Knowledge of Computer Applications.

KVS PRT Teacher Educational Criteria

PRTs
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
    • Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
    • Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)* OR
    • Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education(B.Ed)*
  • Should pass Central Teacher Eligibility Test Paper-1 conducted by CBSE.
  • Competence to teach through Hindi & English medium.
  • Desirable Qualifications: - Knowledge of Computer application.

*Who has acquired the qualification of Bachelor of Education from any NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in class I-V provided the person so appointed as a teacher shall mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE within two years of such appointment as Primary Teacher.

KVS PRT Music Teacher Educational Criteria

PRTs Essential:
  • Senior Secondary School Certificate with 50% marks or Intermediate with 50% marks or its equivalent and Bachelor Degree in Music OR
  • Equivalent from a recognized University.
  • Competence to teach through English/Hindi medium.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Age Criteria

You must ensure that you come under the age limit as prescribed in the KVS official notification 2024 . Different posts have different maximum and minimum age limits so you should ensure that while applying for that particular post you lie within that age criteria. Further details are as follows.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Age Relaxation

Besides the above mentioned age criteria, there is an age relaxation in the upper limit that is given to reserved categories.
