The International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) refers to a statutory regulatory body that was established for the development and regulation of the financial services market in the International Financial Services Centre in India. This is a recruitment opportunity that provides plenty of lucrative opportunities for aspirants. IFSCA hopefuls had been eagerly awaiting the IFSCA Grade A Notification for some time now and their prayers were answered when the notification was released on 27 March, 2024. The deadline for the online applications for the IFSCA Grade A Exam is from 28 March to 5 May, 2024. With the release of the notification, IFSCA hopefuls can begin their preparation for the exam. IFSCA Grade A: Phase 1 Exam Pattern

The mode of selection for the IFSCA Grade A exam will be a three-stage process. Phase 1 will be an online screening exam which consists of two papers of 100 marks each. On the other hand, the 2nd phase too will consist of an online exam of two papers of 100 marks each. The third phase, which will be held after candidates clear the first two stages will be the interview.

Phase 1 of the IFSCA Grade A exam which is expected to take place sometime in April comprises 2 papers, which will consist of multiple-choice questions. The two papers, as mentioned earlier, are 100 marks each. The exam pattern for the phase 1 is mentioned in the table below:

IFSCA Grade A: Phase 1 Syllabus

The IFSCA Grade A exam for phase 1, as mentioned below will have two papers. The first paper is common for all streams and will test candidates in subjects such as English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and General Awareness. Paper 2 will contain multiple choice questions: General Knowledge and Current Events of National and International Importance, Economic and Social Development, Commerce, Accountancy, Management, Finance, etc. While candidates for legal stream will be asked to answer questions pertaining to specialized subjects

Please Note:

  • There will be negative marking (1/4th of marks assigned to the question) for Paper 1 and Paper 2 in Phase I.
  • There shall be a cut-off of a minimum of 30% for Paper 1 (no sectional cut-off shall be there) and a cut-off of minimum 40% for Paper 2 in Phase I.
  • Candidates will have to secure separate cut-offs in each paper as mentioned above as well as aggregate cut-off marks of 40% in Phase I exam to be shortlisted for Phase II. Marks obtained in Phase I will be used for shortlisting the candidates for Phase II examination process only.
  • Subject to the criteria mentioned at (iii) above, all the candidates who clear Phase I shall be shortlisted for Phase II. The list of candidates shortlisted for Phase II will be made available on IFSCA website.

IFSCA Grade A Phase 2: Exam Pattern

Like the case with Phase 1, Phase 2 of the IFSCA Assistant Manager Exam which might take place in Mayalso comprises 2 papers.

Paper 1 will consist of a Descriptive English Test, which will comprise of 3 questions: Precis Writing, Essay Writing and Comprehension. Note that you must type your answers on the computer.

IFSCA Grade A Phase 2: Syllabus

The IFSCA Grade A Phase 2 will focus on the Descriptive section for paper 1 and multiple-choice questions for paper 2 as mentioned in the exam pattern. Aspirants need to be prepared for the essay, precis and comprehension writing segment for paper 1. For the paper 2 syllabus, aspirants should focus on stream-based preparation.
