Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) just published its recruitment notification for the post of Sub Inspector (Group C) on June 15. It is an excellent opportunity for those who aspire to join the police department. Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply for this post. This is a good chance to grab amid this Covid situation. Candidates are advised to go through the complete eligibility requirements before they start applying for the HSSC SI recruitment. Those who do not fulfill the eligibility conditions will not be permitted to move ahead with the selection process.
Points to be noted:
- Only those SC/BCA/BCB/EWS and ESM candidates who are domicile of Haryana state will be eligible for reservation.
- The reserved category candidates who belong to other states than Haryana will apply to the posts meant for General category candidates and will thus be taken into consideration as 'General' category candidates.
- Candidates who possess Degrees/Diploma/Certificates from Board/Institution/ University which are not recognized by Haryana Government will be ineligible for the exam.
Educational Qualification
To be eligible for appearing in the HSSC Sub Inspector exam, a candidate (male/female) must possess:
- Graduation from a recognized university or its equivalent.
- Matric with Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the subjects or higher

Apart from the above-mentioned educational criteria that a candidate needs to fulfill, there are other physical parameters also notified by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission that will determine the eligibility of a candidate in further stages of the selection process.

Age Criteria
Apart from the educational criteria, candidates who wish to apply for HSSC SI recruitment need to conform to the age criteria also. Any candidate whether male or female should fall under the age bracket of 21-27 years “on the first day of the month in which the applications are invited for recruitment of Sub-Inspector i.e on 01.06.2021”.

Age Relaxation
All the candidates are required to follow the age criteria mentioned in the HSSC Sub-Inspector official notification. There is an exception for a few of the categories.
- For the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Backward Class categories & Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) there is a provision of age relaxation provided by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission.

For Ex-servicemen | the break-in service between the date of discharge and between the 1st day of the month (i.e 01.06.2021) in which the enrolment process is started, shall not exceed four years as per rule 12.24 (1) I of Punjab Police Rules-1934. |
Note: For Male - As per section 5A of the Haryana Police (Non Gazatted and Other Ranks) Service Rules, 2017 amended upto 2018, the upper age limit for recruitment in the rank of Sub-Inspector to all departmental candidates in Haryana Police with a minimum 03 years of continuous service shall be 30 years for General Category candidates and 35 years for Backward Class candidates and Scheduled Castes candidates.
Note: For Female - As per section 5A of the Haryana Police (Non Gazatted and Other Ranks) Service Rules, 2017 as amended from time to time, the upper age limit for recruitment in the rank of Sub-Inspector (Female) to all departmental candidates in Haryana Police with a minimum 03 years of continuous service shall be 30 years for General Category candidates and 35 years for Backward Class candidates and Scheduled Caste candidates.
