    The online examination for HPSCB for the posts of Junior Clerk & Steno/Steno-typists will be conducted in two phases i.e. Phase-1 (Preliminary examination) and Phase-2 (Main Examination). This exam will be conducted through IBPS, Mumbai. Skill Test (in case of steno) will be followed by these two tests (as prescribed by the bank)

    • Phase 1- Preliminary exam (Online Written)
    • Phase 2- Mains exam (Online Written)
    • Skills test (Steno/Steno-Typist)

    HPSCB Phase 1 (Prelims) Exam Pattern

    HPSCB Phase 1 or (Prelims) Exam 2025 is the first phase of the recruitment process for all the posts i.e. Jr. Clerk (Direct Recruitment), Jr. Clerk (PACS/OCS quota) & Steno/Steno-Typist. Candidates up to 10 times of vacant posts in the Jr. Clerk category and 20 times of vacant posts in the Steno/Steno-typist category will qualify to appear for the Main Examination. Please note that the Phase-I (Preliminary Examination) shall be qualifying in nature which means marks obtained in Prelims Exam will not be considered while preparing the final merit list.

    HPSCB Phase 2 (Mains) Exam Pattern

    After qualifying for HPSCB Phase 1 or Prelims Exam 2025, you will be called for the Mains exam. The HPSCB Phase 2 or Mains Exam consists of four objective tests. The overall score obtained in HPSCB Phase 2 or Mains exam 2025 will decide your final selection. As per the provisions of the Bank’s Service Rules, the marks for Phase-2 (Main Exam) shall be 85% and marks for Evaluation of documents shall be 15%.     Please note:-

    • *General Awareness will also include 25% of questions about H.P. General Knowledge.
    • Candidates up to 3 times of vacant posts in the case of Jr. Clerk (Direct Recruitment) and up to 6 times of vacant posts in the case of the Steno/Steno-typist category will qualify to appear for scrutiny of documents and for skill test of steno typing /typing. In the case of the Steno/Steno typist, after the skill test, the candidates up to 3 times of vacant posts will qualify to appear for scrutiny of documents.

    For the post of Jr. Clerk under society quota (under PACS/OCS quota)

    Please note:-

    • *Out of 50 questions of General Awareness, 25 questions will be from Banking including Co-operative Banking and 25 questions will include the question on general awareness and question about H.P. General Knowledge.
    • Candidates up to 3 times of vacant posts in the case of Jr. Clerk (Direct Recruitment) will qualify to appear for scrutiny of documents.

    Note: To get shortlisted for evaluation of documents, you have to secure at least 45% marks in Phase-2 (Main Examination) This is applicable for all the posts.

    Important Note:

    In case the candidates applying for any category of posts is not up to the expected number of candidates, a single main exam will be held. This will be decided by the bank itself and should be considered final. Information related to this will be updated on the official website of HPSCB in due course.

    In case you want to apply for both the posts, you can do so by registering separately for the post of Jr. Clerk and Steno/Steno-typist.

    Exam Language/Marking Scheme

    HPSCB Exam Phase 1 and Phase 2 exams will have a negative marking. For every wrong answer, 0.25% or 1/4th marks will be deducted. HPSCB Exam 2025 exam will be conducted online only. Kindly note, all questions (in both Preliminary and Main Examination, except the Test of English), are available bilingually in English and Hindi.

    Yes, In order to apply for the post, you need to pass 10+2 with 50% marks. Provided you should pass it from Himachal Pradesh. Other than this, you can also apply if you have graduated or has any equivalent degree. 
    You can seek upper age relaxation only if you are a bonafide Himachali. If you belong to any other state you will be considered under a General Category candidate, hence, no benefit in age relaxation will be provided. 
    The last date to apply for this exam is July 02, 2021.
    You must be in between a minimum of 18 years of age and a maximum of 45 years of age ( As oN January 01, 2021) to be able to apply for the exam.
    Yes. The HPSCB exam is bilingual which means you can attempt all the sections either in English or Hindi except the test of English or Hindi Language.
    The benefits of reservation and fee concession will not be admissible to such candidates who are not bonafide Himachali. Only bonafide Himachali are eligible to take benefits of reservation in age relaxation and fee concession. 
    You need to possess the desired percentage of marks as mentioned in the notification. For eg - 59.99% will not be treated as 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%. 
    Initially, you will be on probation of 2 years but that may extend as per the guideline by the higher authority.
