Exam Pattern

The UPSC ESIC exam pattern comprises a computer-based recruitment test/ recruitment test followed by a personal interview. The UPSC ESIC exam 2026 will take place in two stages.

• Stage 1 - Computer-based recruitment test/ recruitment test (CBRT/RT)
• Stage 2 - Interview

Online Written examination

The UPSC ESIC exam pattern 2021 will take place in two parts i.e., Part A and Part B. The test will be of two hours duration. There will be a penalty for wrong answers as well. The UPSC ESIC Part A and Part B exam pattern contain English and General Ability respectively. The marks allotted to each section and overall are not mentioned in the official notification. Interview

After qualifying CBRT/RT, you will get shortlisted for the interview. Shortlisted Candidates are required to bring the printout of their Online Application along with Other Documents at UPSC.

Marking Scheme

There is a penalty for every wrong answer marked. Every wrong answer will attract a deduction of one-third of the marks assigned to that question. If no answer is marked for a question, there will be no penalty for that question.

Exam Language

You can attempt the Part B of UPSC ESIC exam 2021 in either Hindi or English. However, you have to attempt Part A i.e., English in English language only.
