Question
In the question below some statements are given followed by three conclusions I, II and
III. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts. Read all the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusion definitely follows from the given statements, disregarding commonly known facts. Statements: Some Resignation are Promotion All Offer are Promotion Only a few Letter are Promotion Conclusions:
I. All Promotion being Letter is a possibility
II. Some Resignation are Offer
III. All Promotion are Resignation
Solution
Only a few Letter are Promotion → All Promotion may be Letter (A). Hence conclusion I follows. Some Resignation are Promotion (I) + [All Offer are Promotion (A) → Conversion] → Some Promotion are Offer (I) → No conclusion. Hence conclusion II does not follow. Some Resignation are Promotion (I) → Conversion → Some Promotion are Resignation (I). Hence conclusion III does not follow.
