    In the question below some statements are given followed by two conclusions I and II. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts.     Statements: No Lamp are Light. No Light

    are Bulb. All Tube are Bulb. Conclusions: I. At least some Tube being Light is a possibility. II. Some Bulb being Lamp is a possibility.

    Solution

    All Tube are Bulb (A) + [No Light are Bulb (E) → Conversion] → No Bulb are Light (E) → No Tube is Light (E). Hence conclusion I does not follow. No Lamp are Light (E) + No Light are Bulb (E) → Probable conclusion → Some Bulb may be Lamp (I). Hence conclusion II follows.
