      black are stick. All black are steel. Conclusions: I. At least some steel are not umbrella. II. No black is an umbrella. III. No umbrella is steel In each of the questions below some statements are given followed by some Conclusions. You have to take the given statements to be true even, if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts.       Solution

      All black are stick (A) → Conversion → Some stick are black (I) + All black are steel (A) → Some stick are steel (I).  No umbrella is a stick (E) + Some stick are steel (I) → Some steel are not umbrella (O*). Hence conclusion I follows but conclusion III does not follow. All black are stick (A) + [No umbrella is a stick (E) → Conversion] → No stick is a umbrella (E) → No black is a umbrella (E). Hence conclusion II follows.
