Question
Ram has Rs. 1000 in denomination of Rs. 2, Rs. 5 and Rs. 10
only. If the ratio of number of coins of Rs. 2, Rs. 5 and Rs. 10 is 5:3:10 respectively. Find the total number of coins.Solution
Let the number of coins of Rs. 2, Rs. 5 and Rs. 10 be 5x, 3x and 10x respectively.
ATQ,
Or, (5x X 2 + 3x X 5 + 10 X 10x) = 1000
Or, 125x = 1000
So, 'x' = 8
Therefore, required number of coins = (5x + 3x + 10x) = 18 x 8 = 144
