    3 years ago from now, let the age of the grandson and that of the grandfather be 'y' years and '5y' years, respectively 2 years hence from now, age of the grandfather = 5y + 3 + 2 = (5y + 5) years 2 years hence from now, age of the grandson = y + 3 + 2 = (y + 5) years According to the question, (5y + 5) = (y + 5) ÷ 0.25 Or, 5y + 5 = 4y + 20 So, y = 15 So, present age of the grandson = 15 + 3 = 18 years
