      Solution

      Let the speed of the faster train = x kmph ∴ Relative speed of the trains = (x - 18) kmph ⇒(x - 18) x 5/18 m/sec. Distance = 125 + 100 = 225 m and time = 9 sec ∴ (x - 18)x 5/18 = 225 / 9 ⇒x - 18 = (225 x 18 ) / (5 x 9) = 90 ∴ x = 90 +18= 108 kmph.
