Question
A train running with a speed of 108 km/hr can cross a
pole in 22 seconds and a platform in 25 seconds. Find the length of the platform.Solution
Speed of the train = 108 × (5/18) = 30 m/sec Length of the train = 30 × 22 = 660 metres Let the length of the platform be ‘x’ metres Therefore, 660 + x = 30 × 25 Or, x = 750 – 660 = 90 metres
