Question
'S' alone does a work in 18 days. 'T' is 50% more efficient
than 'S'. Both work together but 'S' leaves after 6 days. Find the number of days 'T' will take to finish the remaining work.Solution
ATQ,
Let efficiency of 'S' = '6x' units/day
Efficiency of 'T' = 6x Ă— (1.5) = 9x units/day
Total work = 6x Ă— 18 = 108x units
Work done in 6 days = (6x + 9x) Ă— 6 = 90x units
Remaining work = 108x - 90x = 18x units
Time by 'T' = 18x Ă· 9x = 2 days
