    Solution

    Let total amount of work be 450 units (LCM of 18 and 25). Efficiency of ‘A’ = 450/18 = 25 units/day Efficiency of ‘B’ = 450/25 = 18 units/day Amount of work done by ‘A’ and ‘B’ together in 9 days = (25 + 18) × 9 = 387 units Time taken by B to complete remaining work = {(450 – 387)/18} = 3.5 days
