Question
A and B together can complete a piece of work in
25 days while A alone can complete 50% of the work in 50 days. Find the time taken by B to complete 66% of the work.Solution
Time taken by A to complete the whole work = 50/0.50 = 100 days
Let total work = 100 units
Amount of work done by A and B together in one day = 100/25 = 4 units
Amount of work done by A alone in one day = 100/100 = 1 units
Amount of work done by B in one day = 4 – 1 = 3 units
Desired time = 0.66 × 100/3 = 22 days
