Question
Two bikers ‘C’ and ‘D’ start from towns ‘X’ and
‘Y’ respectively towards each other at the same time. The distance between towns ‘X’ and ‘Y’ is 360 km. If bikers ‘C’ and ‘D’ are moving at speeds of 24 km/hr and 36 km/hr respectively, find the distance from town ‘X’ to the meeting point.Solution
ATQ,
Let the distance from ‘X’ where two bikers will meet each other be ‘x’ km.Therefore,
Or, 3x = 360 - 2x
Or, 5x = 360
Or, x = 72
Therefore, both bikers will meet each other at a distance of 72 km from town ‘X’.
