Question
1120 becomes 1792 at a certain rate of simple interest in 10 years. If the rate of interest would be 4 % less, then find the amount at the end of 12.5 years.
Solution
A=1792, P=1120 T= 10y R= r% SI= A-P =1792-1120=672 then r= (SI ×100)/PT  r= (672 ×100)/1120×10  r= 67200/11200=672/112  r= 6% when the rate of interest would be 4% less  r=6-4 =2% T=12.5year P= 1120 so now SI =1120×2×12.5/100 SI= 112×25/10  =2800/10=280 now A=P+SI  =1120+280=1400rs
