Question
The coins of ₹1, 50 paise, and 10 paise are in the ratio
6:5:9 in a collection. If the total money is ₹376.60, find the number of 10-paise coins.Solution
ATQ,
Let the number of ₹1, 50p, and 10p coins be 6x, 5x and 9x respectively.
ATQ:
(6x × 1) + (5x × 0.50) + (9x × 0.10) = 376.60
Or, 6x + 2.5x + 0.9x = 376.60
Or, 9.4x = 376.60
Or, x = 376.60 / 9.4 = 40
So, number of 10-paise coins = 9x = 9 × 40 = 360
