Question
In a box, ₹5, ₹2 and ₹1 coins are present in the
ratio 2:3:5. If the total value of coins is ₹609, then how many ₹1 coins are there?Solution
ATQ,
Let the number of ₹5, ₹2 and ₹1 coins be 2x, 3x and 5x respectively.
ATQ:
(2x × 5) + (3x × 2) + (5x × 1) = 609
Or, 10x + 6x + 5x = 609
Or, 21x = 609
Or, x = 609 / 21 = 29
So, number of ₹1 coins = 5x = 5 × 29 = 145
