Question
A total of Rs. ‘K’ was to be distributed among P, Q,
and R in ratio of 7:5:6 respectively but due to some reason the money was falsely distributed in ratio of 6:5:7 respectively such that P received Rs. 4200 less. Find the value of 2K.Solution
Let the total amount [K] be Rs. 18x
So, amount which P was supposed to receive = 18x × (7/18) = Rs. 7x
Amount which was actually received by P = 18x × (6/18) = Rs. 6x
ATQ,
7x - 6x = 4200
⇒ x = 4200
Also,
K = 18x = 18 × 4200 = Rs. 75600
Therefore, required value,
2K = 2 × 75600 = ₹151200
