    I. 35x² - 24x – 35 = 0 35x² + 25x - 49x – 35 = 0 5x(7x + 5) – 7(7x + 5) = 0 (5 x – 7) (7 x + 5) = 0 ∴ x = 7/5, -5/7 II. 72y² - 145y + 72 = 0 72y² - 64y - 81y + 72 = 0 8y(9y – 8) - 9(9y – 8) = 0 (8y – 9) (9y – 8) = 0 ∴ y = 9/8, 8/9 Hence, relationship cannot be established between x and y.
