A Rs. 4800 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Rs. 5600 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Rs. 5200 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Rs. 6000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

Total cost price of articles ‘A’ and ‘B’ together
      = 8000 × 2 = Rs. 16000 Cost price of article ‘A’
      = 3/8 × 16000 = Rs. 6000 Cost price of article ‘B’
      = 16000 – 6000 = Rs. 10000 Let profit percentage earned on selling article ‘A’ is x%. So, 6000 × (1 + x/100) + 10000 × (1 – x/100) = 13600 Or, 6000 + 60x + 10000 – 100x = 13600 Or, 16000 – 40x = 13600 Or, 40x = 2400 Or, x = 60 So, desired difference = 1.60 × 6000 – 0.40 × 10000 = 9600 – 4000 = Rs. 5600
