Question
The cost price of two dozen donuts is Rs. 120. After
selling 18 donuts at the rate of Rs. 72 per dozen, the shopkeeper reduced the rate and sold the remaining donuts at the rate of Rs. 48 per dozen. Find the profit or loss percentage of the shopkeeper in this transaction.Solution
ATQ,
Cost price of 2 dozen donuts = Rs. 120
Selling price of 18 donuts = 18 × (72/12) = Rs. 108
Selling price of 6 donuts = 6 × (48/12) = Rs. 24
Selling price of 24 donuts = 108 + 24 = Rs. 132
Profit earned on selling 24 donuts = 132 – 120 = Rs. 12
Profit percentage = (12/120) × 100 = 10%
