    ATQ, Let the cost price of the article = Rs. 100 Marked price of the article = 1.40 × 100 = Rs. 140 Selling price of the article = 140 × (100 – d)/100 =  1.05 × 100 140 – 1.4d = 105 1.4d = 35,  d = 25 So the value of d = 25%
