Question
A costs thrice as much as B. A is sold at a loss of 15%
and B is sold at 7/5th of its price. If selling price of A is Rs. 2300 more than selling price of B, what is the cost price of A?Solution
Let the CP of B be 100x. CP of A = 3 × 100x = 300x Now SP of A = 85% of 300x = 255x And SP of B = 100x × 7/5 = 140x According to question, => 255x – 140x = 2300 => x = 20 CP of A = 300x = 300 × 20 = Rs. 6000
