increases the discount from 6% to 8%, the profit will decrease by Rs. 23. Find the selling price of the item in order to earn a profit of 22%.Solution
Let, cost price of item be Rs. x.
So, mark price = Rs. 1.25x
According to question,
1.25x [0.94 – 0.92] = 23
1.25x = 1150
x = 920
Therefore, required selling price = 920 × 1.22 = Rs. 1122.40
