    years. Ram’s mother Mayadevi is three times as old as Ram, and Ravi is four times as old as his brother Soham. The ages of Mayadevi and Soham differ by 65 years. Find the age of Mayadevi (in years).

    Let the age of Ram be x & Ravi be y, So, age of Mayadevi = 3x and Soham = y/4  Now, x - y = 7..........(1) 3x - {y/4} = 265....(2) From the first equation: y = x - 7 Substitute into the second equation: 3x - {x - 7}/{4} = 265 Multiply through by 4: 12x - (x - 7) = 1060 12x - x + 7 = 1060 11x = 1053 x = 23 Then: Mayadevi = 3x = 3 x 23 = 69 years
