Let Income of Ram and Shyam be 15x and 16x respectively. Let expenditure of Ram and Shyam be 5y and 6y respectively. We know that, Income = Expenditure + Savings; 15x - 5y = 10,000-----(i 16x - 6y = 10,000------(ii solving equation (i and (ii we get, x = 1000 y = 1000 so, Required difference = 16x - 15x = x = Rs. 1000
