Three numbers are in the ratio 19 : 21 : 23. If the
difference between thrice the third number and the sum of first and second number is 841. Find the difference between the first and third number?Solution
Let the first, second and third numbers be 19x, 21x and 23x respectively. so, => 3 × 23x - (19x + 21x) = 841 => 69x - 40x = 841 => x = 841/29 = 29 Therefore required difference = 23x - 19x = 4x = 4 × 29 = 116
