Let the income of Karan = Rs. '100x' Amount left after spending on food = 100x - 100x X 0.10 = Rs. '90x' Amount left after spending on rent = 90x - 90x X 0.50 = Rs. '45x' So, 45x = 27000 Or, x = 27000 ÷ 45 = 600 So, income of Karan = 600 X 100 = Rs. 60,000 Income of Arjun = 60000 X 1.20 = Rs. 72,000
