Monthly savings of X = 0.55 × 6800 = Rs. 3740 Monthly expenditure of X = 6800 – 3740 = Rs. 3060 Monthly expenditure of Y = (15/8) × 3060 = Rs. 5737.5 Monthly savings of Y = 3740/1.25 = Rs. 2992 Monthly income of Y = 5737.5 + 2992 = Rs. 8729.5
