and Rs. 15,000 respectively. 25% of total profit is given to 'A' for managing the business, and rest of the profit is distributed between them in the ratio of investment. If at the end of a year, total profit received by 'A' is Rs. 7,000, then find the total profit.
A Rs. 10,000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Rs. 12,000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Rs. 15,000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Rs. 18,000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E Rs. 9,000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Ratio of profit share of 'A' to 'B' = 12000:15000 = 4:5 Let the total profit be Rs. '180p' So, 0.25 X 180p + (4/9) X 0.75 X 180p = 7,000 Or, 45p + (4/9) X 135p = 7,000 Or, 45p + 60p = 7,000 Or, 105p = 7,000 Or, 'p' = 7000/105 = 200/3 Therefore, total profit = 180 X (200/3) = Rs. 12,000
