Question
Raj and Simran invested in a business in the ratio of 10:6 respectively. After 5 months, Priya joined them, investing an amount equal to their average investment. At the end of the year, the total profit was Rs. 6,02,000. What was Priyaโs share in the profit?
Solution
ATQ,
Let investments be Rs. โ10xโ and Rs. โ6xโ respectively.
Priyaโs investment = (10x + 6x)/2 = Rs. โ8xโ
Profit share = (10x ร 12) : (6x ร 12) : (8x ร 7) = 120 : 72 : 56
Simplify โ 30:18:14
So, Priyaโs share = 602000 ร (14/62) = Rs. 1,36,000
