Question
Raj and Simran invested in a business in the ratio of
10:6 respectively. After 5 months, Priya joined them, investing an amount equal to their average investment. At the end of the year, the total profit was Rs. 6,02,000. What was Priya’s share in the profit?Solution
ATQ,
Let investments be Rs. ‘10x’ and Rs. ‘6x’ respectively.
Priya’s investment = (10x + 6x)/2 = Rs. ‘8x’
Profit share = (10x × 12) : (6x × 12) : (8x × 7) = 120 : 72 : 56
Simplify → 30:18:14
So, Priya’s share = 602000 × (14/62) = Rs. 1,36,000
