Profit ratio = [(a + 2000) × 10] : [a × 12] = (5a + 10000) : 6a

(5a + 10000) : 6a = 11 : 12
⇒ 12 × (5a + 10000) = 11 × 6a
⇒ 60a + 120000 = 66a
⇒ 6a = 120000
⇒ a = 20000
Investment of R = 20000 + 2000 = Rs. 22,000
