Question
Pooja and Ritu started a partnership by investing Rs. 1050
and Rs. 900 respectively. After 6 months, Pooja increased her capital by Rs. 210, while Ritu decreased her capital by Rs. 180. If the total annual profit is Rs. 62400, what is the difference between their shares?Solution
ATQ,
Ratio of profit share of Pooja to Ritu = [1050 × 6 + (1050 + 210) × 6] : [900 × 6 + (900 – 180) × 6]
= (6300 + 7560):(5400 + 4320) = 13860 : 9720 = 77 : 54
Difference = {(77 – 54)/(77 + 54)} × 62400 = (23/131) × 62400 = Rs. 10944
