Question

A and B started a business with investments in the ratio 4:5 respectively. After 5 months, C joined them with an investment 20% more than the investment of B. Find the profit share of C out of the total profit of Rs. 3500 at the end of two years

A Rs. 1960 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Rs. 1050 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Rs. 1250 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Rs. 1560 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

Solution

Let the investments of A and B be Rs. 4x and Rs. 5x respectively.
So, the investment of C = 1.20 × 5x = Rs. 6x
So, the ratio of their investments = (4x × 24): (5x × 24): (6x × 19) = 4:5:5
So, the profit share of C = 5/14 × 3500 = Rs. 1250
