the amount he managed to save. Find the percentage of income he used for expenses.Solution

Let the amount saved by Ajay = Rs. Y
Then, amount spent by Ajay = Rs. (Y - 15000)
We have, Y + Y - 15000 = 50000
Or, Y = (50000 + 15000) ÷ 2 = Rs. 32500
So, amount spent by Ajay = 32500 - 15000 = Rs. 17500
Required percentage = (17500 / 50000) × 100 = 35%
