Question

A ground is divided into two equal parts. In one part of

the ground, there is a cycle race whereas there is a marathon in other part of the ground. At any point of time, the number of cyclists is two times the number of marathon runners. 10 runners participated in the marathon and two of them quit after every 5 min. When the runners quit, all the cyclists keep their one foot on the ground. Find the total number of feet on the ground after 10 mins? (Assume that runners’ both feet are on the ground after 10 min.)
A 12 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 18 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 24 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 30 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Number of marathon runners on the ground after 10 mins = 10 - (2 + 2) = 6 ∴ Number of cyclists on the ground after 10 mins = 6 × 2 = 12 ∴ Total number of feet on the ground after 10 mins = (6 × 2 ) + 12 = 24
