ratio of 3:2 respectively is mixed with another 160 ml of mixture B containing milk and water in the ratio of 1:4 respectively. Find the ratio of milk to water in the resultant mixture.Solution
Quantity of milk in 160 ml of mixture A = 3/5 × 160 = 96 ml
Quantity of water in 160 ml of mixture A = 2/5 × 160 = 64 ml
Quantity of milk in 160 ml of mixture B = 1/5 × 160 = 32 ml
Quantity of water in 160 ml of mixture B = 4/5 × 160 = 128 ml
Desired Ratio = (96 + 32):(64 + 128) = 128:192 = 2:3
