    Solution

    Remaining quantity of the original mixture = 140 – 40 = 100 litres Quantity of water in the final mixture = 100 x (3/10) + 40 = 70 litres Quantity of milk in the final mixture = 100 x (7/10) = 70 litres Ratio of water and milk in the final mixture = 70 : 70 = 1:1
