    Quantity of milk in container R = 0.20 × 90 = 18 litres Quantity of water in container R = 0.40 × 50 = 20 litres Let x litres of water is added to the container R. According to the question, 18/(20 + x) = 3/4 Or, 72 = 60 + 3x Or, 3x = 12 Or, x = 4 Therefore, water added to container R = 4 litres
