Question
If the curved surface area of a cylindrical drum is 660
cm² and its height is 10 cm, then find the diameter of the drum.Solution
ATQ,
Let the radius of the drum be 'r' cm.
Curved surface area of the cylinder = 2 × π × radius × height
ATQ,
2 × (22/7) × 10 × r = 660
So, r = (660 × 7) ÷ (2 × 22 × 10) = 10.5
Therefore, diameter of the drum = 2 × r = 2 × 10.5 = 21 cm
