The perimeter of 4 squares is 20 cm, 28 cm, 32 cm and 48 cm respectively. What will be the area of the square having perimeter equal to sum of edges of 4 squares? (in sq.cm)
Solution
Let side of 4 squares be a, b, c and d cm respectively. => a = 20/4 = 5 cm => b = 28/4 = 7 cm => c = 32/4 = 8 cm => d = 48/4 = 12 cm Perimeter of new square = a + b + c + d = 32 => side = 32/4 = 8 cm Required area = side2 = 82 = 64 cm2.
