Question
The ratio of the breadth to the length of a rectangular
field is 2:3. The total cost of cutting the grass of the field at the rate of Rs 6 per m2 is Rs. 8100. Find the cost of fencing the boundary of the field at the rate of Rs.11 per m. MTSolution
Let the length and breadth of the field is 2x and 3x respectively. Area of the field = 8100/6 = 1350 m2 So, (2x × 3x) = 1350 ⇒ x2 = 225 ⇒ x = 15 Therefore, the length of the field = 2x = 30 m And the breadth of the field = 3x = 45 m Required cost = 2 × (30 + 45) × 11 = Rs. 1650
