    height 250 metres. Find the area of the field and also calculate the charges for supplying water to the field at the rate of Rs.15 per sq. hectare?

    Solution

    Area = 1/2 ×  base ×  height = 1/2 ×  400 ×  250 = 50,000 m2 ∴ Cost = Rate x Area = (15 ×  50000)/10000 = Rs.75 (one hectare= 10,000 m2 )
